Madera and Sacramento Projects

MLLT also has a project In Madera and Sacramento counties. Working with the Sacramento Valley Conservancy and the Sierra Foothill Conservancy we helped protect the Bass Lake Reservoir lands and 375 acres of the Deer Creek Preserve.

Deer Creek Hills Preserve

The Deer Creek Preserve is protected and conserved by Sacramento Valley Conservancy. Mother Lode Land Trust helped purchase a large adjacent parcel that expand the already protected lands by nearly 375 acres. MLLT now manages the land with staff at the Sacramento Valley Conservancy. There are guided docent tours available through the SVC website.

Bass Lake

Bass Lake is a midsize reservoir located in Madera County about 14 miles south of the Yosemite National Park. The reservoir has a wide range of recreational opportunities from boating to fishing and hiking. The North side of the reservoir is highly developed and the south side is available for more of a traditional camping experience.
